Crime Story Media has always held that exploring the themes, characters, functions, and dysfunctions of the criminal legal process is best done by close examination of cases that play out in a courtroom and the storytelling presented by the advocates in those cases. As part of our effort to bring you compelling, in-depth trial analysis, we are shifting away from coverage of the narratives behind crime policy and politics and winding down the Crime Story Daily feature.

The work compiled here presents a fascinating look at the criminal legal process in America during a time of incredible upheaval brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. While we will no longer be updating this feature, we will maintain this section as an archive of how justice was shaped during a global public health crisis.
